Grounding refers to simple, practical ways of helping the nervous system settle and reconnect with the present moment.

What This Space Is (and Is Not)

  • This is a regulation-focused space, not a therapy group

  • We do not analyze news, debate politics, or process trauma in detail

  • The focus is tending to the internal experience of living through challenging times

  • Strong feelings are welcome; overwhelm is not the goal, and facilitation will support regulation.

Who This Is For

This space may be supportive if you:

  • Feel impacted by ongoing stress, uncertainty, or collective events

  • Want grounding tools you can use in daily life

  • Value calm, respectful community spaces

  • Prefer practical, embodied approaches to coping

What to Bring

You’re welcome to bring anything that helps you feel comfortable and grounded, such as:

  • A chair, mat, or blanket

  • Water

  • A journal and pen

  • An eye mask

  • A small grounding object

Please dress for the weather and your comfort.

What happens during a typical session?

• A welcome and group guide posts

• Teaching and practicing simple grounding tools

• Optional sharing of coping strategies that participants find helpful

• Gentle closing practice

About the Facilitators

Dr. Shenell Evans (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist, posttraumatic growth facilitator, and the founder of Resilience Psychological Services PLLC. Her work centers on helping people restore access to themselves—their bodies, their signals, their knowing—in the aftermath of what life has put them through. She created Grounding Together as a space where nervous systems can rest in community, without performance or pressure.
